Crash on Fish Hatchery Road kills one Tuesday night

Lexington County, SC 01/24/2024 (Paul Kirby) - One person who was the passenger in a car that crashed on Fish Hatchery Road has died following that collision. According to Master Trooper David Jones of the SCHP, this deadly crash happened on Fish Hatchery Road around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

According to Trooper Jones, a 1991 Ford was heading north on Fish Hatchery Road toward Pelion when the driver dropped off the right side of the pavement, overcorrected, lost control, crossed back across both lanes, went off the pavement left, overturned killing the passenger. The driver did survive and was taken to the Trauma Center at Palmetto Richland hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has not released the decedent's identification until she notifies their next of kin.
