Customer wins $300,000 on $10 Carolina Gold scratch off at Three Fountains area convenience store

Three Fountains, SC 06/10/2022 (Paul Kirby) – A regular customer recently hit it big in the SC State Education Lottery at a convenience store in the Three Fountains area of Lexington County. According to the store's owner, this was the Grand Prize for that ticket the customer bought.

The customer stopped into the Palm Pantry #33, a Shell station, located at 3945 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia which is adjacent to the Columbia Metro Airport’s runways. While there, he bought a $10 Carolina Gold scratch off ticket and when he scratched his numbers, he couldn’t believe his luck. He had won $300,000!

According to Neal Patel, one of the owners of the Palm Pantry chain, the customer came in and bought the ticket on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 6:39 p.m. “He’s a regular who stops by and gets a few things and often buys a lottery ticket from us. When he left, he was much wealthier than when he came in. Honestly, we were as excited for our customer as he was,” Patel stated. “We’ve sold a lot of winning tickets, but this was the biggest to date.”

The winner has asked to remain anonymous.
