Deputies investigating shooting in Red Bank

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – Detectives with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a shooting after a man was killed Monday night. The shooting happened at a home close to Hoover Buildings’ offices and yard in the Red Bank area of the county.

According to Captain Adam Myrick of the department, the incident occurred on South Hampton Avenue off Two Notch Road. Lexington County Corner Margaret Fisher identified the man as William Clark, age 38. Officials said he died of an apparent gunshot wound sustained in the incident.

Captain Myrick said that deputies were dispatch to the location after a call to 911. During that call, someone reported there had been a man shot. When the first deputies arrived, the man had been transported to a hospital. Neither the coroner or Captain Myrick said who had transported Clark or if he was still alive when he arrived at the medical facility.
