Dramatic four car collision claims life of one driver on Hwy 321 South near farmers market Wednesday

Dixianna, SC (Diana Nation) - A dramatic four-car collision occurred at approximately 1:45 PM, Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020 on Hwy 321 South near Glenn Road and the South Carolina State Farmers Market. As a result of this collision, a driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.


The driver of a 2019 Dodge Charger, Johnny Miles, was traveling South on Hwy 321 South when he struck the rear of a 1999 Honda van. As a result of this collision the Dodge Charger continued left of center across the median striking a 2019 Honda CRV SUV head-on. This impact caused the CRV to become airborne and land on top of a 2014 Chevrolet suburban. Both the suburban and the CRV were traveling northbound. All the drivers of all four vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of this collision.

The driver of the 2019 Honda CRV was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Miles, the driver of the Dodge Charger was transported to an area hospital with what was deemed to be life threatening injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries. As of noon Thursday, the Lexington County Coroner's Office had not yet released the name of the deceased driver.


This crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s MAIT team.
