Edmund Highway Motorcycle Fatality

Lexington, SC - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a vehicle vs.
motorcycle collision in the 6900 block of Edmund Highway in the Pelion area of Lexington County at
approximately 4:10 P.M. on November 18, 2023.
According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Owen Dwain Harness, 65, of West Columbia was traveling westbound
on Edmund Highway when he went left of center and was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. Mr.
Harness, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced
dead due to his injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate
the incident.
