Family and friends of 10-year-old Lexington boy set up GoFundMe as they grieve his tragic death

Lexington, SC 04/17/2024 (Paul Kirby) – A group of family and friends are morning the death of a 10-year-old-boy who died in an accident on Saturday, April 13, 2024. According to Coroner Fisher, Mason Smith of Lexington died in a tragic accident near his home.

Fisher said Mason was surrounded by family and friends and was doing what he loved when he passed. His favorite things to do were to enjoy the outdoors and spend time with those that he held close. She didn’t go into any further details of the freak accident.

Mason loved spending time with his friends and family. He also loved playing baseball. On his GoFundMe page, the organizers are quoted as saying, “he touched the lives of everyone he met with his bright red mullet, infectious smile, love for Jesus, unwavering kindness, and passion for life.”

Those organizers also ask that the community keep the family in your hearts as they grieve this immeasurable loss. The family also asks for privacy during this difficult time.

A foundation simply called the Mason Foundation will immediately begin by helping all that knew and loved him remember his legacy.  Until the foundation is fully established, and its status set, people can donate to it by following this link GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/eb4b4d1b.
