Fatal collision on Ridge Road claims the life of a Wagener woman

Lexington, SC 05/09/2022 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the woman who died in a single vehicle accident in the 2300 block of Ridge Road in Leesville shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022. According to Coroner Fisher, Janet Johnson Caulk, 68, of Wagener, SC was the victim in that crash.

According to Fisher, Caulk was traveling westbound on Ridge Road when the vehicle she was driving left the roadway, ran into a ditch, and overturned. Caulk, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
