South Congaree, SC 08/12/2024 (Paul Kirby) – Former town of Batesburg-Leesville City Manager Teddy Luckadoo has been contracted by the Town of South Congaree to help them get their administrative house in order. Luckadoo has said that he will work several days a week to help South Congaree develop some policies and procedures get written and assist with developing a plan for South Congaree’s future.
Luckadoo, who was with Batesburg-Leesville for around 10 years, says he has promised South Congaree a few months while he is between jobs. “I’m not here to clash with the politics of South Congaree,” Luckadoo said recently. “Instead, I am here to work with a united council to see how quickly we can get some standards in place that will help the town begin to grow and prosper even more.
One of Luckadoo’s first task was to officially welcome new Police Steven Jonas with an official press release of his hiring. “We have a real asset in Chief Jonas, and I expect that he and I will work together to rebuild the police department. I made it clear to the Chief that I am not here to tell him how to run his department. I’m certainly not a cop. I am willing to let him do his job with as much help from me as he needs.”
Luckadoo started his job on Monday, August 26, 2024. He is still a resident of the Batesburg-Leesville area and in his down time, he is an avid golfer.
