Irmo, SC 10/02/2021 (Paul Kirby) – After being shut down as a precaution during the worldwide pandemic, the Lexington County Branch Library’s Book Sales are back! The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library are now providing you an opportunity to once again come out and enjoy the fall weather and find that next great read you’ve been looking for.
The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library Group will hold a one-day only Outdoor Used Book Sale on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The sale will be set up in the parking lot of the Irmo Branch Library which is located at 6251 St. Andrews Road.
Their first outdoor sale in May was hugely successful. Prior to that sale, all Book Sales had been held indoors. Those had to be paused because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now in October, there will once again be a large selection of fiction, nonfiction, and children’s books available in both hardback and paperback. DVDs and other media are also available. The Friends have set a rain date of October 23 in the event there’s inclement weather on October 9th.
Sales will be by the book or by the bag and Friends members receive a discount. You can join the Friends of the Irmo Branch Library at the door for as little as $10. Customers are encouraged to wear masks, and the parking area where the displays are set up has plenty of room for social distancing.
A non-profit, volunteer organization, the Friends support, promote and help fund the Irmo Branch Library’s programs, services and materials through proceeds from book sales and other events. For questions regarding the sale you can e-mail the Friends of the Irmo Branch Library at friends.irmobranchlibrary@gmail.com.
