Friends of the South Congaree-Pine Ridge Library offers scholarship to high school seniors
South Congaree - 02/17/2021 - The Friends of the South Congaree-Pine Ridge Library are honoring Carol B. Clark, the first branch librarian manager, by naming a scholarship in her honor. Carol has served as the Branch Manager since the library opened on July 19, 2007.
Carol’s enthusiasm is so very evident in all that she does for the patrons in planning programs and events for all ages that naming this scholarship after her was inevitable, according to a spokesperson for the friends group. In Spring of 2020, Carol was presented the 2020 Public Library Employee Excellence Award by The Friends of South Carolina Libraries.
The Friends of South Congaree-Pine Ridge Library are offering two (2) scholarships. High school seniors in the service area of the library are eligible. Students from Airport High School, White Knoll High School, homeschooled students, virtual or charter school students, or students who attend private schools are eligible if they live in the South Congaree and Pine Ridge areas. The funds may be used for post-secondary education expenses. The Friends of the South Congaree-Pine Ridge Library will review all applications and have full authority to grant the scholarships.
The application process opened on December 15, 2020. Deadline for completed applications is extended to April 1, 2021. The scholarships will be award to the winners at the April 2021 meeting of the Friends of the South Congaree-Pine Ridge Library.
Applications can be downloaded from www.scprfriends.org/scholarship. Only applications following the full submission requirements will be reviewed. For more information, email Kitty Spires, SCPR Friends President, at email@example.com.
