Gaston, SC 08/19/2024 (Paul Kirby) – The Gaston Police Department has arrested Christopher “Mark” Hodges, 34, of Gaston on multiple traffic charges, a property crime, and crimes involving marijuana and narcotics possession after he led police on a high-speed chase Friday. Hodges, who is no stranger to Gaston officers, was riding a motorcycle during the pursuit.
A Gaston officer was on routine patrol when he got behind Hodges on the motorcycle and noticed a registration violation. When the officer activated his warning lights and siren to get Hodges to pull over, he instead accelerated initiating the pursuit. Officers gave chase and were finally able to get Hodges to stop.
Police have now charged Hodges with Reckless Driving, Failure to Register a Vehicle, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Goods, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine or Cocaine, and Receiving Stolen Goods.
Hodges was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center where he was released by Monday after meeting the terms of his bond.
