Gaston, SC 12/30/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A home caught fire and burned on Boy Scout Road in the Gaston area of Lexington County Wednesday night. According to the first caller, the fire began in the bedroom and then spread from there. This happened just before 7:00 p.m. on December 29, 2021.
When the first fire service equipment arrived, that team reported flames coming from the window of a single-family dwelling. While the firefighters set up to attack the fire, a second due fire truck laid a large water supply hose down the road from a fire hydrant. Once other firefighters arrived, crews were able to pull their hoses inside the burning structure and made an aggressive interior attack.
Crews searched the homes to make sure that everyone was out and safe while fire commanders directed the attack crews from the outside. In a short time, the crews brought the fire under control.
Although the crews put the fire out quickly, the home was left inhabitable. An estimate of the total amount of danges to the home has not been released.
