Home burns on Founders Road Tuesday afternoon

Boiling Springs, SC 07/14/ 2022 (Paul Kirby) – A vacant doublewide mobile home was destroyed by fire shortly after noon on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022. The home was located in the 1100 block of Founders Rd between the Boiling Springs community and Pelion. According to Jessica Imbimbo, spokesperson for Lexington County, the fire was reported by a SCDNR airplane that had passed overhead and spotted the burning home.

Units from the Lexington County Fire Service, Lexington County EMS, and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department responded. The first arriving units found the home fully involved in flames and smoke. Firefighters pulled their hoses from the trucks and within approximately 15 minutes had brought the fire under control. Imbimbo said there were no injuries as a result of this fire.

Once the fire was extinguished, Lexington County’s Department of Public Works was requested to assist the firefighters in overhauling the site. At this point, the cause of the fire has not been released.
