Home near Lexington damaged by fire Friday afternoon

Lexington, SC 02/25/2022 (Paul Kirby) – Firefighters from across central Lexington County responded to a house fire at approximately 12:40 p.m. Friday afternoon. The fire was in the 200 block of Cinnamon Hills Lane off Gibson Road in the Town of Lexington.
When the first crews arrived, they found flames and smoke coming from the attic of the single-story home. First arriving crews mounted an aggressive interior attack while other teams began to search the house to make sure no one was trapped inside. With all the teams working under a unified command structure, it took just about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

According to Lexington County Public Information Officer Jessica Imbimbo, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Personnel from Dominion Energy responded to the fire to disconnect the home’s utilities and officers from the Lexington Police Department were also on scene to assist.
According to Imbimbo, two people were displaced as a result of the fire. They are currently being assisted by the American Red Cross. Officials are working to determine the cause of the fire.
