Pelion, SC - 02/11/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are looking into a shooting that happened early Thursday morning. This occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m. on Catherine Drive north of the Town of Pelion.
According to Captain Adam Myrick, spokesman for Sheriff Koon, one man is being treated for a gunshot wound after he was in a shootout with another man. The man that was wounded fled to another home where he knocked on someone’s door asking for help. The neighbors called law enforcement and a deputy sheriff rendered medical aid to the man until EMS and the fire service arrived. The injured man was transported to an area hospital where he is being treated.
Captain Myrick said the department’s investigators were continuing work on this case. Specifically, they are working to locate a suspect who they were able to identify Thursday. They'd also like to know what events led up to the shooting.
