Irmo, Chapin, and Lexington mayors join to read at Irmo Park

Irmo, SC 06/02/2025 - The leaders of three local municipalities are joining forces to encourage summer reading among children. Irmo Mayor Bill Danielson is partnering with the mayors of Lexington and Chapin for a series of Tuesday morning story times at parks across the area.
Beginning this month and continuing through August, the mayors will take turns reading aloud at different park locations each week. The initiative aims to promote literacy and community engagement during the summer months.
The reading schedule is as follows, with all events taking place at 10:30 a.m.:
June 10: Moore Park, Irmo
June 17: Virginia Hylton Park, Lexington
June 24: Chapin Town Hall Park, Chapin
July 8: Moore Park, Irmo
July 15: Virginia Hylton Park, Lexington
July 22: Chapin Town Hall Park, Chapin
August 12: Moore Park, Irmo
August 19: Virginia Hylton Park, Lexington
August 26: Chapin Town Hall Park, Chapin
