Irmo, SC 01/29/2025 (Paul Kirby) – Units from the Irmo Fire District responded to a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Casco Bay Road Wednesday afternoon. First arriving firefighters encountered a single family, one story, brick residence with flames consuming one room and its content.
The commander of the first on scene engine crew realized that a decisive, fast fire attack was called for and that team immediately geared up, pulled a hose line and began fighting the fire. Because of their actions, the crew was able to quickly put the fire out preventing it from spreading to any other portion of the home.
According to the Irmo Fire District’s social media page, all the occupants of the home and their pets made it out safely. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
