Lexington, SC 09/15/2025 – John Lastinger, who was born and raised in Lexington County, has announced his candidacy for the South Carolina House District 88’s special election. A conservative Republican, Lastinger is committed to serving the people of Lexington County with integrity, faith, and a strong conservative voice.
For 47 years, Lastinger has faithfully pastored The Edge Church on Platt Springs Road in Springdale, preaching the Gospel and ministering to families across the community. Surrounded by his wife of 50 years, grown sons, their wives, and his grandchildren, all living in Lexington County, he understands the importance of building strong families and preserving Christian values for future generations.
A three-time Trump voter, Lastinger is a steadfast defender of the Second Amendment, a strong pro-life advocate, and an unwavering conservative who will always put the people of District 88 first. He is a man of common sense who believes government should work for the people, not against them. He also believes in supporting family-friendly schools that reflect the values of parents and put children’s education ahead of political agendas.
“District 88 needs a representative who not only shares our conservative values but also stands firm in faith,” said Lastinger. “I believe God has called me to serve this community once again, and I am ready to fight for our values, our families, and our future. We the people can!”

It is commendable to observe leaders such as John Lastinger who champion familial and communal ideals. His exemplary pastoral tenure reflects his commitment to individuals. For a relaxing break after such serious reflections, I recommend trying dordle - a fun and engaging way to unwind.
It feels great to witness leaders, for example, John Lastinger, who embrace strong family and community values. His wonderful tenure as a pastor indicates his dedication to people. On a lighter note, I have been reading about classic crew cut hairstyles these days- just like politics, classic styles never go out of fashion.
