Keep the Midlands Beautiful Grinding of the Greens Tree Recycling program now underway

Lexington County, SC 12/27/2021 (Paul Kirby) – The Grinding of the Greens Live Christmas Tree Recycling Program is back again this year. This program provides a number of centralized live tree drop off sites across both Lexington and Richland Counties where you can easily leave your 2021 Christmas Tree to be ground into new, 2022, high-quality mulch. This saves landfill space and is extremely good for the environment. Best of all, starting on January 15th, the rich mulch is free for residents of both Lexington and Richland Counties until it runs out.

The program started on Sunday, December 26, 2021 and will continue through Saturday, January 15, 2022. Just take all the decorations off your tree, referrer to the locations chart below to find the drop off location closest to you, and then take it there and leave it. Make sure to look at the included times listed below because hours are not standardized. Once you drop your tree, you’re done until next year.
