There are a series of FFA degrees that a student can earn during their time in FFA. Two degrees are awarded at the local level, one at the state level, then the national level. After a student earns their state FFA degree, the only step left is the highest honor, the American FFA Degree. Less than 1% of all 760,113 FFA members earn this degree. A student must meet the following qualifications: 1) receive their state FFA degree; 2) complete the equivalent of at least 3 years of systematic secondary school instruction in an agricultural education program; 3) graduate high school at least 12 months prior to the national convention at which the degree is to be granted; 4) earn at least $10,000 and productively invested $7,500 or earn and productively invest $2,000 and work 2,250 hours in excess of scheduled class time in their SAE program. 5) participate in at least 50 hours of community service.
