Leesville Merchant’s Association planning old fashion “Cruise In on Main”

Batesburg-Leesville, SC 04/02/2021 (Paul Kirby) – On Sunday, April 11th, 2021, the Leesville Merchant’s Association (LMA) is bringing back a great, small town tradition. They are planning a “Cruise In on Main.”

A Cruise In is a classic vehicle event where aficionados and collectors drive their classic vehicles in, park, and show them off to everyone. Spectators stroll among the cars and trucks reminiscing, often green with envy, as they admire the chrome, beautiful paint, and mechanical marvels of a bygone era.

During the LMA’s event, there will also be live music and food trucks so you, your family, and friends can grab a bite to eat and enjoy so old tunes as you stroll along looking at the beautiful machines. There may even be a few of Batesburg-Leesville's famous Shaggers in the crowd that break out into a spontaneous street dance!

The merchants will also hold a 50/50 Raffle with all proceeds to benefit the Christian Ministry Center. This group will also be collecting personal hygiene items for the Christian Ministry Center and the Whittenberg Lutheran Church Food Pantry. It’s all open to the public and there’s no admission for spectators to attend and enjoy themselves.

Cars can begin arriving on Main Street in Leesville at 2:00 and the event officially starts at 3:00 p.m. At that time, Main Street in Leesville will be closed so that people can enjoy the Cruise In.
