Lexington Chamber announces road, walking path, and boat ramp closures during Dining on the Dam event

Lexington, SC 09/09/2025 – The Lexington Chamber’s Dining on the Dam event will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Due to the upcoming event, boaters and Lake Murray Dam walkers should be aware that the roadway, walking path, and boat ramp on the Irmo side will be closed prior to and during the event.
Roadway & Walking Path:
To accommodate the event, the upper roadway and the Lake Murray Dam pedestrian walkway will be fully closed to all vehicles and pedestrians. This closure will begin on Sunday, September 21st at 6:00 a.m. During the closure, all traffic will be diverted to the dam's lower roadway. The upper roadway will reopen after midnight on Monday, September 22nd. The pedestrian walkway will reopen on Monday morning, September 22, 2025.

Dominion Energy Public Park Irmo Boat Ramp / Parking Area:
Boaters should note that the Dominion Energy Public Park on the Irmo side of Lake Murray will be closed from Saturday, September 20th at 9:00 PM until Monday, September 22nd at 6:00 AM.
Alternative boat launch locations include the Shull Island Boat Ramp on Shull Island in Lexington and the Hilton Boat Ramp in Chapin.
