Cayce, SC 06/15/2022 (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Councilmember Todd Cullum of District 9 easily defeated challenger Bobby Porter, a former South Congaree Town councilmember, in his bid to retain the seat he has held on Lexington County’s Council for many years. Council District 9 covers Cayce, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, and out toward Dixiana.
Although Porter filed, he did little to no campaigning. He owns his own construction and development business and works out of town a great deal. He lives in South Congaree with his wife Jennifer who owns Premier One Chiropractic in the Red Bank area.
In a statement released by Cullum through a spokesperson, he said, “Today, the voters of Lexington County Council District 9 have given me the opportunity to represent them for another four years. And I am grateful for every single vote.
No matter how you voted today, please know I am thankful for the opportunity to represent you, your family, your business and our community.
With the recent County redistricting, I was fortunate to have the Town of South Congaree and the rest of the City of Cayce included in District 9. I have enjoyed meeting so many new voters on the campaign trail. And; if we haven’t met yet, I look forward to doing so very soon. I am proud of our progress, our accomplishments and progress over the last few years, and the chance to continue working together for Lexington County.
Thank you again for your time, your support, your vote; and most of all, your trust.”
No Democrat filed to run for this seat meaning that Cullum will have no challenger in November.
