Lexington, SC 04/18/2024 - Deputies from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department responded to a potential safety threat at Lexington High School late in the school day on Thursday afternoon. As the deputies arrived, they worked with the school’s staff to begin checking and securing the building.
As the investigated the incident, they had extra deputies on the campus to ensure everyone’s safety. They also stayed in constant communication with Lexington County School District One administrative staff.
At about 3:30 p.m., they reported that they had found no evidence of a credible threat. At that time, the school’s operation had returned to normal.
