Lexington County detectives in the early phase of death investigation in Gilbert

Gilbert, SC (05/13/2021 Paul Kirby) – Detectives with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are in the early phases of a death investigation in Gilbert Thursday afternoon. According to Captain Adam Myrick, they are currently working a scene in the town.

Captain Myrick was responding to an inquiry made by The Lexington Ledger after we began receiving calls in reference to a large Lexington County Sheriff’s Department presence at one of Lexington County School District One’s school on Broad Street. We are also being told that there is CRIME SCENE tape in place at a public ball field just down the street.


According to Captain Myrick, there is no current danger to the public as a result of what their investigating. He could not provide any more at this early stage of their work.


We will update this story as we learn more.
