Lexington, SC 08/07/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A Lexington County man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a child under the age of 11 for a crime he committed in October of 2016. This is according to investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
According to arrest warrants, Joseph Alan Richey, who was 24 at the time of the incident, performed oral sex on a 9-year-old boy in his Pelion area home. At the time, the child was living in the residence with Richey.
According to arrest warrants, the child revealed to a forensic investigator what Richey had done during an interview at the Dickerson Child Advocacy Center. After that interview, a warrant was obtained, and Richey was taken into custody and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center. As of Saturday, August 7, 2021, Richey was still in the jail after being denied bond.
