Lexington County, SC 01/23/2025 (Paul Kirby) – After experiencing record cold weather and winter precipitation this week, all students will return to their area’s schools on Friday, January 24, 2025. All five county districts, however, will operate on a 2-hour delay. This is being done so that temperatures outside can rise before students, families, and buses venture out and take to the roads and streets.
In all cases, classes will start two hours later than the normal schedule. The districts have said that afternoon dismissals will be at the normal time and all 3K classes are cancelled. Specifics on other after school extra-curricular activities will be communicated to students and parents via each district’s electronic communication systems.
