Springdale, SC 02/09/2024 (Paul Kirby) – A Lexington County woman had to be transported by ambulance to a local hospital after she received serious injuries when she was attacked by a dog Thursday afternoon. According to Jessica Imbimbo, a spokesperson for Lexington County, the County’s 911 Center received a call for an animal bite from a business at 132 Old Barnwell Road, near Wattling Road, at approximately 3:30 p.m. GOOGLE Maps shows this as a structure that shares the same property as a dog training and kennel business.
Imbimbo said that Lexington County EMS responded and arrived on the scene in 7 minutes. When they arrived, they found that an employee of the facility had significant lacerations to the left forearm that resulted from a dog bite. That employee was treated and transported to Lexington Medical Center emergent because the employee was in shock.
According to Lexington County Animal Services investigators, the dog was current on a rabies vaccine so there are no violations. The owner picked their dog up to quarantine at home.
