Lexington, SC 07/13/2021 – Chief Terrence Green of the Lexington Police Department is asking the community for assistance in identifying a man who is believed to have stolen multiple American flags from a neighborhood in the town.
On the morning of July 12, 2021, officers began responding to numerous calls regarding thefts that occurred in the Wellesley neighborhood off Ginny Lane. The crime victims reported to officers that eight American flags, along with a decorative yard flag, had been stolen. The first such incident happened on June 25, 2021. Seven additional incidents occurred during the early morning hours of July 11 and July 12, 2021.
The subject involved in these incidents is believed to be a male whose race is unknow. He appears to have short, dark hair and a full beard. He was seen on surveillance videos wearing a hooded sweatshirt, shorts, and slide sandals with socks. The subject may have been driving a dark in color Honda CRV.
