Lexington investigators trying to identify man who deposited a fraudulent check stolen in Lexington

Lexington, SC 08/24/2023 (Paul Kirby) - The Lexington Police Department is asking the public to help them identify a man who is alleged to have deposited a fraudulently obtained check in North Carolina. The account information that on that check led police to discover that the check had been stolen from a victim who lives in the Town of Lexington, SC.

The North Carolina bank’s surveillance cameras caught the man’s face clearly however he had a bandana obscuring most of that. Please look at the picture closely. If you recognize the man, or know who he might be, please contact Detective Wise at 803-358-1514 or awise@lexsc.com with information.
