West Columbia, SC 07/21/2022 – Lexington Medical Center recently welcomed Dr. Douglas J. Cooper, DPM, to the hospital’s network of care. Dr. Cooper will care for patients at the practice’s newest office, located at Lexington Medical Center Lexington, 811 West Main Street, Suite 202.
From preventive care to conservative treatments and major reconstructive surgeries, Dr. Cooper provides comprehensive foot and ankle care. He is a member of the American Academy of Podiatric Sport Medicine, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the National Podiatric Medical Association and is certified in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support. He most recently completed his residency, which included a focus in limb salvage among Native American, rural and veteran populations. In addition to his clinical training, he served as a senior research resident, performing data analysis of trials for treatment of Achilles tendonitis and analyzing clinical effectiveness of treatments for chronic venous ulcerations.
Dr. Cooper graduated with his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and earned his medical degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida. He then completed his residency at Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in Tucson.
