West Columbia, SC 05/03/2022 - Lexington Medical Center and the cities of West Columbia and Cayce have partnered to provide new water fountains at four locations.
The drinking fountains are located in West Columbia at the entrance of Riverwalk Park on Alexander Road and Carraway Park on Hudson Street. Drinking fountains are located along the Cayce Riverwalk at the Naples Street entrance and the southern entrance of the Timmerman Trail on Fort Congaree Trail.
The partnership between Lexington Medical Center and the cities encourages the public to “Be Well,” and promotes healthy lifestyles.

“The Riverwalks in West Columbia and Cayce are widely used by residents and visitors,” said Lara Lott Moore, vice president for community medical centers at Lexington Medical Center. “Providing water filling stations at these locations encourages more people to get out and be active. We want everyone to live a healthy life and be well.”
Cayce Mayor Elise Partin added, “We are grateful to Lexington Medical Center for the donation of these water stations. The Cayce Riverwalk and Timmerman Trail are cherished places where residents and visitors come to be healthy and enjoy nature in our great city. I know these stations will provide an even greater opportunity for health and will attract new users to these unique assets.”
Mayor Tem Miles is also grateful for the new equipment. “I am thankful for Lexington Medical Center’s donation of the water bottle filling stations at our Riverwalk and Carraway Park – A Place for All Children to Play,” he added. “They will help our citizens and visitors remain healthy and hydrated as they get out and enjoy the natural beauties of the riverwalk and our fully accessible playground.”
