Lexington Medical Center to begin accepting COVID-19 vaccine appointments for Group 1B

Columbia, SC 03/03/2021 - South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster and the Department of Health Environmental Control have announced that COVID-19 vaccinations for South Carolina residents in Group 1B will begin on Monday, March 8, 2021.

For a full list of who is eligible to receive a vaccine in 1B, go to https://scdhec.gov/covid19/covid-19-vaccine.

Beginning today, individuals in Group 1B can register for a vaccine at Lexington Medical Center by going to LexMed.com/vaccine and clicking on “Request Form” to register for the vaccine by providing information including their name, date of birth and email address. Lexington Medical Center will upload the email addresses to the Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS) on Monday, March 8. Then, individuals will receive an email from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention allowing them to complete their registration and schedule a date and time for a vaccine appointment.

South Carolina residents in Group 1B without an email address or access to a computer can call (803) 739 – 3363 Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Lexington Medical Center representative will assist them with scheduling an appointment.

Upon arriving for a vaccine appointment, individuals will need to present a driver’s license or identification card.

South Carolina receives vaccines weekly. Appointments are subject to cancellation based on the number of vaccines received from the federal government.
