Lexington One hires assistant principal for Lexington Elementary from within

Lexington, SC 04/05/2022 - Albert H. Robertson, Lexington District One’s social studies coordinator, will join Lexington Elementary as the school’s assistant principal.


Robertson joined Lexington District One in 2006 as a social studies teacher at Pleasant Hill Middle. In 2012, he transferred to Meadow Glen Middle when the school opened to teach seventh grade social studies. He also served as seventh grade house leader, social studies department head and the district’s lead teacher for middle school social studies.

An awarding-winning educator, Robertson earned Lexington District One’s Teacher of the Year in 2014. He then went on to be named a Top 5 finalist for South Carolina Teacher of the Year. He was also named the 2016 South Carolina History Teacher of the Year.

In 2016, Robertson was promoted to social studies coordinator for the district.


Robertson earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Newberry College and a Master of Education in educational administration from the University of South Carolina. He holds elementary administration as well as middle and high school level social studies certifications.


Robertson is a member of the Palmetto State Teachers Association, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, S.C. Council for the Social Studies, S.C. Social Studies Supervisors Association, S.C. Geographic Alliance and the S.C. Middle School Association.
