Lexington, SC 05/02/2023 - The Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees recently approved the hiring of William G. Hall, II as the district’s new transportation director. Hall joins Lexington One after serving as the program coordinator and supervisor of transportation in Calhoun County for the South Carolina Department of Education and Lexington School District Four.
Hall has vast experience, ranging from serving in the Army, law enforcement and as a bus driver. In 2003, Hall served as a substitute teacher for Richland School District Two. Later that year, Hall decided to become a bus driver, driving students to and from school in Lexington School District Three. In 2004, he joined the police force in Horry County, where over 15 years, he served as a patrol officer, school resource officer, warrant officer, beach patrol officer, patrol corporal and patrol sergeant for the Horry County Police. During this time, he also served as a law enforcement teacher for Horry County Schools.
In 2019, Hall was hired to lead the South Carolina Department of Transportation’s hub in Horry County, serving as the program coordinator and county supervisor. In 2022, he transferred to his current position at the SCDOE, serving Calhoun County and Lexington School District Four. In addition, Hall has spent the last 21 years serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. From 2011 to 2012, he also served as a drill sergeant at Fort Jackson.
Hall graduated from Grand Canyon University, earning a bachelor’s degree in public safety administration.
