Lexington PD seizes drugs, guns, and cash after traffic stop

Lexington, SC 02/13/2023 (Paul Kirby) – Lexington police officers made a traffic stop over the weekend and ended up taking a number of illegal drugs, guns, and cash off the streets by the time they had finished. According to the police, an officer with their Delta Shift Patrol Shift pulled over a vehicle because he though that the driver might be impaired. As things progressed, he ended up locating and seizing 1,000 Xanax pills, two handguns, a high capacity drum magazine, ammunition, and $1650 cash.

According to a spokesman for the department, this is an example of the Lexington Police Department’s proactive traffic enforcement. This type of work goes a long way in keeping the community safe and is part of their ongoing strategic plan focused on lowering crime and increasing traffic safety throughout the Town of Lexington, SC.
