Lexington Police Department officers need your help to catch a fraudster

Lexington, SC 06/24/2021 (Paul Kirby) - The Lexington Police Department is turning to the public for assistance in identifying an individual involved in a crime. This man, seen in the attached photographs, used a fraudulent check at Walmart.

Officers say that this happened on May 23, 2021. The black male entered the store, did some shopping, and then used the fraudulent check to pay.

He has a rather distinctive look. His round glasses have a bit of a tint to them, and wo could miss that hat? He also had a small beard that was thin along the jawline with a pencil thin mustache. Look closely at those beads around his neck. That’s not something lots of people are wearing.

It appears as if the man has a tattoo on the inside of his left forearm. He is also wearing a gold or gold toned watch on his left and has bracelets on each wrist. It doesn’t appear as if he was trying to be inconspicuous.

If you recognize this individual, please contact Detective Payton at 803-358-7271 or bpayton@lexsc.com.
