Lexington police get their man in case of drive-by shooting

Lexington, SC 07/08/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A spokesman for the Lexington Police Department said just after noon on Thursday that Roosevelt Erik Garway, Jr. has been arrested. He is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center with a bond set at $23,000 along with additional restrictions if he is released from jail.

On June 28, 2021, Garway is believed to have shot into a home on Coventry Lakes Drive in Lexington. Police believe that he had a conflict with someone on social media that lived at this home. Garway had an acquaintance drive him through the neighborhood while he fired several shots into the home. Garway and his accomplice then fled the scene in the vehilce.

Last week, Patrick Riley Prewitt, 19, of Lexington was arrested and charged after police determined that he was the driver of the car. He was booked on Criminal Conspiracy.

Police originally said they thought one more person might be involved. They have not provided any more details on whether that was the case or not.
