Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Lexington Police Department has turned to the public again for their assistance to help identify a man who grabbed groceries at Walmart and did not pay for them. This crime happened on Friday, September 11th, 2020.
According to police, the man in the attached picture went into Walmart on Sunset Boulevard in Lexington and just took over $700.00 worth of groceries. Of course, he may be difficult to recognize because he is following the town’s ordinance on mandatory face coverings and appears to be wearing a large mask that covers much of the lower portion of his face. He is heavy set and appears to be a Caucasian.
His clothes are nondescript but he does have those shades perched atop his cap's brim. It seems when people get in that habit, it just sticks with them. Is there a baby in his life? He sure does have a large box of diapers under his cart that would run up anyone's bill at the register.
The man stuffed his shopping cart with a great deal of groceries that included some nice steaks and other expensive items. He has a taste for the finer things but apparently, he doesn’t have the budget to match. Instead, he just avoided all that hassle of the checkout by skipping it and leaving the store without paying for any of the items he selected. He was however caught on the stores video surveillance system. That's where these photographs of him were obtained.
If you have any idea who this hungry thief is, please call the Lexington Police Department at 803-951-4642 and speak with Detective Heath. Any information that you can provide may help stop or at least curtail this sort of behavior in the town.
