Lexington police officers hope the community can help them identify a cigarette bandit

Lexington, SC Paul Kirby - Officers with the Lexington Police Department are asking the community to look at some photographs taken from video surveillance footage during a shoplifting incident. That footage was captured by the camera system of a store in the town.

According to police, a man went into the Circle K on Sunset Boulevard on September 16th, 2020. While in the store the man took a carton of cigarettes and left without paying for them.

Please take a minute to look at the attached photographs closely. It is difficult to see any of the man's features because he is wearing a PPE mask and has a cap pulled down low over his brow. He is also wearing a hoodie that covers his clothes and hides his body’s shape.

Officers say that after the man took the cigarettes, he left the store in an Acura sedan.

If you have any information regarding this theft, please call Detective Corporal Currier at 803-359-2067.
