Lexington recovery community organization The Courage Center temporarily suspends on-site services

Lexington, SC 02/11/2021 – Yesterday, an employee of The Courage Center tested positive for COVID-19. All other staff have been tested, yielding no additional positives at this time. They all will be re-tested on Monday.

Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Courage Center will temporarily suspend on-site services and temporarily close the facility located at 860 Park Road in Lexington.

Regularly scheduled participant meetings will be held virtually.

The Courage Center also will be professionally disinfected and sanitized while the facility is closed.

If any employee tests positive, a negative test and absence of any symptoms will be required before being allowed to return to work at the center.

When The Courage Center reopens, all health and safety protocols will continue to be followed.

“Our top priority is the health, safety, and well-being of our staff, participants, volunteers, and visitors,” Executive Director Adrienne Bellinger said in a statement. “We will continue to navigate this pandemic with the same caution and person-centered approach we use every day with those engaged in our recovery support services.”
