Lexington, SC 01/06/2022 (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County School District One has made changes to their COVID-19 Quarantine Policies to reflect the latest updates from the CDC. They communicated these changes through their weeklyYouTube release from Superintendent Little and have now emailed all parents and staff members an easy-to-use flyer that explains the changes in simple terms.
This is now the most current policy:
If a student are staff members has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus
The student or staff member may return to school or work on Day 6 if they meet the following requirements:
Have no symptoms on Day 5
Remain fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicines like Tylenol or aspirin
Wear a mask at school through Day 10
Students and Staff Members who have been in quarantine
If the student or staff member has had close contact with someone who is or was COVID positive, they may return to school if:
Receive a negative test on or after Day 4 *
Remain symptom-free during your quarantine period; and,
Wear a mask through Day 10
*Home Covid and Antibody test are not an acceptable test method
Quarantine Update
You do not have to quarantine after close contact exposure if you:
Are maximumly vaccinated * OR tested COVID-19 positive in the last 90-days
Remain symptom-free during your quarantine
Wear a mask from Day 1 through Day 10
* Maximally Vaccinated is defined as a person who has completed their primary vaccine series and has had a booster if eligible for one.
