Lexington, SC 01/11/2024- All Lexington One schools will operate on a half-day schedule on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, as severe weather is once again predicted for their area. The National Weather Service is predicting wind gusts that will increase to over 40 mph starting sometime around 3-4 p.m. The potential for the most severe thunderstorms is predicted mainly between 4-8 p.m.
As has been shared before, S.C. Department of Education transportation officials recommend limiting school bus operations in these type conditions. By operating on a half-day schedule on Friday, District One’s bus drivers should be able to complete all of their routes by 3 p.m.
Lexington One will dismiss school early on Friday, Jan. 12 as follows:
Elementary Schools (including full day preschool classes) dismiss at 11:20 a.m.
Pre-school half-day classes, both morning and afternoon sessions, are canceled.
