Lexington School District Two announces the hiring of a new director for their Innovation Center

West Columbia, SC 05/21/2025 – A leader with more than two decades of experience in education, criminal justice, and workforce development has been announced as the new director of the Lexington Two Innovation Center for the coming 2025-2026 school year.


The Lexington Two Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Schiria Wilson at its monthly May meeting, upon the recommendation of Superintendent Dr. Brenda Hafner.

Ms. Wilson currently serves in Richland School District Two as the Career and Technical Education (CTE) administrator and Work-Based Learning coordinator at Spring Valley High School. Under her leadership, the school’s CTE completion rate has more than doubled, and its College and Career Readiness (CCR) rating has risen from “Good” to “Excellent.” She leads cross-functional teams, oversees federal and state funding, develops innovative instructional programming, and ensures alignment between curriculum and workforce needs. She previously served as a secondary administrator at Spring Valley, a work-based learning coordinator at Westwood High School, and a certified CTE instructor at Blythewood High School. She also was an assistant professor of criminal justice at Claflin University. Ms. Wilson has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina and a M.Ed. from Southern Wesleyan University.


“As the new director of the Lexington Two Innovation Center, I am looking forward to being a Champion for Children,” Ms. Wilson said. “What this means to me is making teaching and learning my top priority by ensuring that we offer rigorous and innovative CTE programs that engage and prepare students to meet industry demands. Further, I envision building and sustaining community and industry partnerships that result in learning beyond the classroom so that students gain valuable hands-on experience through internships, apprenticeships, and career mentoring. Lastly, I look forward to leading the Lexington Two Innovation Center in becoming the CTE Champion, in which students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and learning styles excel in a climate that is conducive to learning.”


Ms. Wilson will begin her new role on July 1. She succeeds Joni Coleman, who is retiring.

Wow, Ms. Wilson’s achievements are truly inspiring! It’s amazing to see how her leadership has directly impacted student success — doubling the CTE completion rate and elevating the school’s CCR rating to “Excellent” is no small feat.
