Linton named Lexington One’s Food Service and Nutrition Director

Lexington, SC 02/14/2026 - At its January 27, 2026, meeting, the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Brittney Linton as Lexington One’s new Food Service and Nutrition director. An experienced leader in child nutrition and public health, Ms. Linton brings over a decade of expertise in food service management, nutritional compliance and community health education to the district.
Ms. Linton joins Lexington One from the Lee County School District, where she served as the Director of Child Nutrition for nearly five years. In that role, she successfully directed all food service activities, ensuring operations remained fiscally sound while adhering to state and federal guidelines. She is credited with planning and organizing district-wide programs that prioritized student health through balanced, educational and accessible nutrition.
Prior to her leadership in school food services, Linton worked with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. During her tenure as a breastfeeding coordinator and nutritionist, she managed regional peer counseling programs, and monitored federal compliance for WIC sites across the Pee Dee Region. Her background also includes impactful work with Clemson University’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) where she assisted in curriculum development and grant procurement.
Linton earned a Bachelor of Science in food science from Clemson University, with a concentration in nutrition and dietetics and has 30+ hours towards her master’s degree. She is highly credentialed in food safety and operations, holding certifications as a HACCP Instructor and a ServSafe® Instructor and Registered Examination Proctor. She serves as vice president of the School Nutrition Association of South Carolina and secretary for the South Carolina Purchasing Alliance, continuing to advocate for innovation and collaboration in school nutrition programs.
