Lexington, SC 04/06/2022 - Three Lexington, S.C. dancers with Connick School of Irish Dance have qualified locally and nationally to represent South Carolina, the southern region, and The United States in the “Olympics of Irish Dance”.
The prestigious 50th Anniversary of the World Championship of Irish Dance was initially planned for April 2020, at the Convention Center in Dublin, Ireland. The Irish Dance Commission found themselves forced to cancel the golden anniversary of the competition the past two years due to Covid. They have finally rescheduled and will host the top 1% of dancers from across the globe in Belfast, Northern Ireland April 10th – 17th.
Carolina Murray, 15, Aurora Murray, 13, and Lachlan Jolly, 12, will travel together to compete on the world stage. They will join four of their friends that also dance for Connick School of Irish Dance in the dance school’s North Carolina locations.
Connick School of Irish Dance can be found serving communities throughout the Carolinas and performing at local schools, civic organizations, parades, retirement centers, and in local restaurants. Future Riverdance stars can try out a class for free! Come and dance with them! http://www.connickschool.com.
