Local distillery adds Vodka to their growing line of artisan spirits

Leesville, SC 03/11/2021 – Hollow Creek Distillery is making news again. Earlier this year, the owners announced the addition of a new 5,000sf building to add production capacity and diversify their products. Later, Governor Henry McMaster presented owners Craig and Meredith Amick a Community Service Award for production of hand sanitizer at the start of the pandemic. Now, they are launching a line of vodka to enhance their already adored top quality spirits.

Craig and Meredith Amick said their small batch distillery near the shores of Lake Murray will launch a new Vodka that have decided to name Low Water. They already have an extensive line of moonshine and other flavored spirits such as High Cotton Bourbon, White Hot, a wonderful Sea Salt & Carmel, and an Apple Pie moonshine that’s delicious for sipping on any occasion.

The newest product, Low Water Vodka, is a handcrafted, pot-distilled vodka produced from 100% corn at Hollow Creek Distillery in Leesville, SC. The “Low Water” moniker is a nod to the family’s legacy in the Lake Murray community. With a good arm, you can still throw a rock from the distillery and make a splash in the waters of the lake in the Twin Bridges area off US Hwy 378 where the distillery has made its home.

Captain Tom Amick, great grandfather of Craig Amick, Hollow Creek Distillery’s President, is credited with having been a successful ferryman. He captained a flat-bottomed skiff across the upper region of the Saluda River prior to construction of Lake Murray. With the capability of transporting multiple carriages and livestock, Captain Tom earned a reputation as a dedicated community servant respected for his work ethic and generosity.

Production of Low Water vodka has begun in the original red barn property tucked beneath the pines on Rocky Ridge Road off Highway 378 where the Twin Bridges cross the water near Leesville. It will soon move to the new 5,000sf expansion once construction is completed.

Predominantly known as a mixer, traditional vodka is commonly distilled multiple times to produce a clean, transparent spirit. Utilizing pot distillation will allow Hollow Creek to handcraft a high-quality vodka worthy of the pride taken in their entire product offering.

The expansion is expected to be completed this Spring, with the original production barn and Tasting Room remaining open throughout the construction process. You can plan your visit during normal business hours: Thursday, 1 pm – 7 pm; Friday, 10 am – 7 pm; and Saturday, from 10 am – 7 pm. The distillery’s physical address is 112 Rocky Ridge Road, Leesville, SC.

A special Free Tasting is taking place this Saturday, March 13th from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. All those of legal drinking age are welcome. Come expecting to take home some of Hollow Creek Distillery’s wonderful spirits for sipping at home with family and friends.
