Lexington, SC 01/31/2022 – The Lexington Police Department announced Sunday that investigators have made an arrest in the overnight shooting death of a 15-year-old boy that happened at the Town & Country Apartments on Roberts Street in the town.
According to police, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to a shooting at 301 Roberts Street. When they arrived, they found a deceased 15-year-old victim who had been shot in the upper body laying outside near the parking lot. That boy has since been identified as Zeloni Canyus Ellison by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Shortly after, Lavon Bernard Julius, age 42 of Columbia, was arrested and charged with Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
The Lexington Police Department, State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the Lexington County Coroner's Office are investigating this case and more information will be released when it becomes available.
