Pelion, SC – 01/28/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A pedestrian was killed on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 after he was struck by a vehicle near the town of Pelion. This according to Maser Trooper David Jones of the SC Highway Patrol.
According to Master Trooper Jones, the man who has now been identified by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher as William Cody Miller, 28, of Pelion was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones said that Miller was walking in the 1300 block of US Hwy. 178 east near the intersection of Thor Road between 6:15 and 6:30 pm Wednesday evening. A Chevrolet Avalanche that was travelling in that direction struck Miller as he walked in the roadway. The occupants of the truck were not injured.
The accident remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
