Lexington, SC 11/22/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Justin Allen Penzes, 33, has been arrested and charged with Domestic Violence in the 2nd Degree. This is not his first interaction with law enforcement, and he has already served time in prison for committing Armed Robbery.
In 2016, Penzes was arrested in Lexington County after he posted an ad on Craigslist saying that he had a car he wanted to sell. He arranged to meet an interested buyer in the Pond Branch area of the county and instead of selling he car, he pulled a gun out and robbed that person. He was quickly located by deputies and arrested. After his arrest, they discovered that Penzes had active warrants in several other jurisdictions for similar crimes he had committed. Later, he was sentenced to prison and incarcerated within the Craigslist.
In 2021, Penzes was released from prison early based on what officials say was good behavior. Saturday, deputies again arrested Penzes after reports he physically attacked and injured his ex-wife who had divorced him while he was in prison. According to a family member, the women he attacked had obvious marks and abrasions on her from the assault. They say he also held her captive and threatened to kill her son if she called law enforcement.
Penzes is currently being held in The Lexington County Detention Center. A judge has set is bond at $10,000.
